Fire safety a hot topic

Most fires are preventable and all employers must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and keep it up to date.

We have plenty of general advice on fire safety on our website, which tells those responsible what they should do. There are also case studies and guidance on dangerous substances that can cause fire and explosions.

We also have advice on how to carry out a fire safety risk assessment on a construction site here.

Summit to raise awareness of MSDs

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) place significant burden on employers and employees accounting for 39% of all work-related ill-health in the country.

Find out more about this subject by joining us at HSE's first ever Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders Summit, which is being held in London on 21 March.

This summit will explain what HSE is doing to tackle MSDs, what you can do about them and how current scientific thinking is starting to shape new and re-energised approaches to help us.

See the full programme for the day and book your places now at our website.
