This can be a reaction to a difficult life event, such as bereavement, but can also be caused by work-related issues. HSE has published updated guidance on mental health in the workplace. It explains how line managers can support employees and provides sources of further help and advice. Our website also has a section entitled work-related stress and how to tackle it. This looks at six main areas of work design which can effect stress levels, as well as offering advice on how employers can protect employees from stress in the workplace. A three month long series of inspections across the waste and recycling sector will assess all aspects of site management risk control. The inspections will particularly focus on managing workplace transport and machinery safety. Make sure you are working safely, in line with our free guidance on waste and recycling.   In addition our inspectors are visiting construction sites to see if builders are thinking of jobs from start to finish, avoiding disturbing asbestos and working in different ways to avoid creating dust. Learn how to control these risks and why.
