Asbestos essentials and guidance

Asbestos can be found in any building built before the year 2000 and causes around 5,000 deaths every year.

Whether you are a tradesperson, building owner, licensed contractor, or a member of the public, our website offers advice and guidance on what you need to know.

Brexit business readiness events

The UK government are holding a series of events to make sure businesses are aware of the actions they need to take to prepare for Brexit.

These events are an opportunity to meet officials from a number of government departments. HSE officials will be attending at a number of locations:

  • 3 October - Hull
  • 4 October - Leeds
  • 14 October - Cardiff
  • 14 October - Liverpool
  • 22 October - Middlesbrough
