If anyone is interested, I have posted this here, in case it could
benefit OpenBSD.

The only drawback compared to cmixer that you would not like completely
is its license, it appears to be GPL2.

However cmixer seems to be somewhat outdated and it seems to not have a
gui either.

This one has per application level support also if you are interested.
