I must admit I didn't know which one to choose, that's why I opted for
pcre2-posix. But it compiled just fine here with that. How did you get
that error?

When I look at other ports, some are using pcre2-8, others pcre2-16 and
others pcre2-32...
Is there a consensus on which version to use?
