Openbsd can't boot gives maclloc: allocation large error

I have this laptop its an Acer aspire 7720 with an intel core 2 duo
t5450. Trying to boot the amd64 installer gives me an error of

maclloc: allocation large error

system has halted

I tried the i386 installer and it boots up fine. I can boot 64bit linux
just fine. I tried the snapshot version and it gives me the same issue.
Even an older version of openbsd gives me the same issue.
