Hi,
The FTDI people took a page from libusb and released newer versions of
libftdi as libftdi1. No files conflict, so libftdi and libftdi1 can be
installed side-by-side. libftdi1 also lists fewer supported chips than
the old library, which might be why they made it separate.
libFTDI is an open source library to talk to FTDI chips: FT232BM, FT245BM,
FT2232C, FT2232D, FT245R, FT232H and FT230X including the popular bitbang
mode. The library is linked with programs in userspace, no kernel driver
required.
This is needed for an upcoming sigrok update.
ok?
