This diff has a few problems which I avoided in my earlier one (bad
@pkgpath markers will cause problems for future updates, and include_dirs
has hardcoded paths rather than variables).
That was stalled due to breaking databases/luma but I've just figured
out how to fix that so I'll commit my version and the fix.
