Yes.

I don't remember. Hours.
At a plausible 100 MB/s write speed it will take 11 hours.

# dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/rsd1c bs=64k # random data
# dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rsd1c bs=64k # zeros

Take care to pick the proper device corresponding to the drive you
want to overwrite.
