There are different approaches following changes to restrictions in Wales and Scotland. On 7 August, Wales moved to alert level 0. There is still a legal requirement for employers to carry out a risk assessment and take reasonable measures to minimise the risk of exposure to and spread of coronavirus. There are a wide range of things that may need to be put in place to lower risks, which may include physical distancing. On 9 August, Scotland moved to beyond level 0, which means physical distancing rules no longer apply. You must still control the risks and review and update your risk assessment. Hovington Limited has been fined £34,000 for safety breaches after a worker was struck by a falling piece of plant machinery while working on a construction site in Rotherham.
