hi stuart
thanks for the reply,
i now have output on the hdmi monitor,
one thing that i've noticed is the boot up information
stops after displaying the date and doesn't proceed to the login prompt,
i can ping and ssh into the pi but no login prompt,
is there still something i need to do ?
