Is there a reason to think it's loading .elc files at startup? emacs
should be using the portable dumper method.
What are the last lines of make configure? Here on amd64:
Does Emacs support the portable dumper? yes
Does Emacs support legacy unexec dumping? no
Which dumping strategy does Emacs use? pdumper
