Seriously, get a printer that speaks PostScript and PDF.
These exist, and are not too expensive. The just say

lp::lp=:rm=aa.bb.cc.dd:rp=lp:sd=/var/spool/output/lpd:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:sh:
