I thought I was going mad for a moment here. I don't remember writing any such
patch -- I've never even written a go program, so it seems unlikely that I
would have written a pledge patch for a go program!
I even diffed the hand-rolled 0.24.1 distfile against the git repo, finding no
changes.
Well, abieber@ wrote pledge support (not me!) and submitted it upstream ages
ago:

So in light of that, I think we can go ahead with using go modules.
Laurent, is your diff from October 8th the most current diff? If so, can you
please re-send it in unmangled form? As sthen@ pointed out, it came through
scrambled, and thus unreviewable.
