xfaces.c in the backtrace looks suspicious to support this theory

Try moving .tmux.conf out of the way (or post your .tmux.conf). That
seems to be something not tested yet.
I cannot reproduce the crash. Your .emacs and installing smex and
xcscope from melpa work with `emacs .emacs'.
