What you are seeing is greylisting in action. Simply put, if the receiving end
here has not seen SMTP traffic from that IP address in a reasonable amount of time
(I think the spamd(8) default is just over one month), you will be presented with
that temporary failure code just to see if you come back.
If you do come back within a reasonable time (the default is no sooner than 25
minutes, forget you tried after 4 hours), your message will eventually be delivered.
