I would stop short of recommending any particular model (mainly because in
my experience all x86/amd64 laptops spin up their fans too much, too often)
but ASUS laptops are not terrible. I have not checked out newer models, but
I still have and use the Zenbook I wrote about in [1], also available without
trackers but with uglier formatting as [2].
TL;DR: generally "just works" but watch out for oddties (which may be fixable
by tweaking BIOS options).
