You have putted the "open-source" world, so I have say:
freely redistributable "CIA NSA" firmwares are also included in the
tree. https://cvsweb.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/sys/dev/microcode/
the things that are downloaded by fw_update are "CIA NSA" firmwares
that do not allow itself to be on the tree.
We now all know that you don't even read the documentation.
