It's time to buy a laptop for OpenBSD. II have OpenBSD 7.5 running on a Lenovo T440 Thinkpad. Here is what works:
* X Windows at 1920x1080 resolution (my vision cannot cope with
anything higher)
* 14 inch screen
* *light* *weight*
* Functional Wifi (don't need Wifi6)
* 16-32 GB RAM. ECC would be nice.
* Moderate amd64 CPU -- enough so that running make in /usr/src doesn't
take all day. vmm support would be nice, but is not a requirement.
In a nutshell, a fairly simple, TURNKEY, laptop. Turnkey is the
critical aspect of this. I don't have time to f*** around with
hardware compatibility issues.
* WiFi
* Suspend and resume (zzz, ZZZ and just closing the lid)
* Audio
* F1 through F6 keys
* The web camera works.
* External CDROM/DVD player works. The T440 has no built in CDROM player.
* USB wireless mouse works.
* USB Canon scanner works.
* Track pointer and touchpad work.
* CUPS printing works but I connect to the printer by WiFi. I use a Xerox
6022 Phaser printer
I know you wanted an AMD processor but most ThinkPads come with Intel.
