That's interesting. I haven't ordered one yet but have been planning to.
I was going to try to use it to listen to local VHF or UHF FM two way
radio (public safely or amateur radio). In my area of California,
everything is still FM where places like the Bay Area are nearly all P25
which would require some other software to listen to it but should still
be able to capture it in some form with sox or something. It's supposed
to work with gnuradio which is in ports (but an older version as well)
but I obviously have not been able to test that.
