I am not on current, but in 7.6 and prior releases, I
have noticed odd minor issues when using Emacs 29 when
linked to gtk3. In ports on current, is 30.1 gtk2
available ? If so can you try that and see if it
works ?

Outside of that I do not have any other suggestions.
