Here a nice way that I use to actualize cert.pem in stunnel's chroot:

~ $ tail -n 2 /upgrade.site
echo Syncing stunnel cert.pem for chroot
install -m 644 /etc/ssl/cert.pem /var/stunnel/etc/ssl/
~ $

I think this is a direction which you're looking for.
