The audio is now noticeably distorted, sounding "crackling" like a fireplace. With this change, pulseaudio also only works with running pipewire which isn't documented anywhere to let users know that this is now required to add to startup files or launch manually. pulseaudio hasn't been great; there has been noticeable audio lag. Some work is underway on an sndio backend for wine, but that's not trivial, so not sure how far out to have this working. Is the crackling audio an issue with other pulseaudio... ?
