I am also having issues to play files on mpv, some times they play fine but others not. It is hard to reproduce those errors, as they seem to happen randomly. Most of the time, there's no audio playing, especially with audio with more than two channels. Also, sometimes mpv freezes and i have to kill -9 it. But, in my case, there is no core dump. Here's some warnings that it issues: >MESA-INTEL: warning: Ivy Bridge Vulkan support is incomplete >[vo/gpu-next/libplacebo] vk->CreateDevice(vk->physd, &dinfo, PL_VK_ALLOC, &vk->dev): VK_ERROR_INVALID_EXTERNAL_HANDLE (../libplacebo-7.360.1/src/vulkan/context.c:1338) >[vo/gpu-next/libplacebo] Failed creating logical device! >[vo/gpu-next/libplacebo] Failed initializing vulkan device > >Audio/Video desynchronisation detected! I think the issue is related to graphics/ffmpeg. That port has been recently patched to a new version, which i promptly installed; and since then other programs that reproduce audio and video also got behaving erratically. For example www/ungoogled-chromium; it does not play audio anymore. I am CC'ing ffmpeg maintainers as well. ungoogled-chromium does not issue anything relevant to codec or library failure, only some warnings for dbus (which is not running) failing. And i don't know how to make it run more verbosely, otherwise i would add its warning messages here as well. -- Lucas de Sena
